Nanaimo

The bustling harbour city of Nanaimo is located on the east coast of Vancouver Island and is often known as the “gateway city” or the “gateway to Vancouver Island” with easy access to both the north/ south regions of the Island. Nanaimo also features easy access to the mainland/ Vancouver via ferry, seaplane/ commercial plane (15 mins). Boasting a diversified economy, the city is a regional centre for technology, manufacturing, tourism, retail, health, and government services. Nanaimo offers an attractive quality of life (interconnected bike route, minimal traffic, and excellent public transit), with a family-oriented culture, friendly people, and stunning views. Residents and visitors to Nanaimo enjoy hiking, kayaking, golfing, biking and swimming (multiple lakes within city limits, Nanaimo River, and Departure Bay) as well as world-class scuba diving and snorkeling.

“I love Nanaimo, it is the best-kept secret on Vancouver Island – I have the best job in the world!”
